A key concept for modern children's culture and literature is "synergy." Synergy is when two or more things work together to make each other more successful than when they were separate. If a book or movie becomes popular, soon related goods make the book or movie more popular, as the book or movie makes the goods more popular. A great example is Harry Potter (originally a British literature creation.)
